
About the Recipe
There are some amazing products out there made from plant-based ingredients to enhance the flavors of dishes more commonly made with animal products. I try not to have too many processed foods, but having them on occasion is ok, and this product is one that I would suggest trying!

Ingredients
For the pasta:
1 box of your pasta of choice
For the bacon:
1 red onion, sliced
1 package of My Bacon
For the sauce:
1.5 cups of cashews
2 cups of vegetable stock
1/2 cup nutritional yeast
3/4 tsp turmeric
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp Kala Namak (black salt)
Fresh cracked black pepper
Preparation
Cook the pasta according to the instructions on the box.
Soak the cashews in boiling water.
Next, heat a cast iron pan over medium heat, add extra virgin olive oil, and then add the onion with a big pinch of salt.
Chop the bacon into small strips.
When the onion has browned, add the bacon and stir to combine. Cook until the bacon is browned.
Drain the cashews and set aside.
To a blender, add the vegetable stock, nutritional yeast, spices, lemon juice, kala namak, pepper, and the drained cashews. Blend until smooth.
Drain your pasta and add it back to the pot.
Stir in the creamy sauce and heat through.
Add the onion and bacon mixture and stir to combine with the pasta.
Plate and serve with some garlic bread.
